phone call

Today I had a quick phone conversation with Sky as well as with his therapist. Things seem to be going well for him, he said he was "doing good" and "fishing a lot.". He scheduled a phone conference because he missed me, and I think his therapist wanted to be sure the first time we talked was with her in case things didn't go well, or he became upset from the conversation. His case worker said that he has been wanting to talk to us because he was pretty sure we didn't want him back, but talking on the phone with us will help him stay connected to his ultimate goal. We got his number so that we can call him more often. It's still early on, he has only been where he is now for a month, so way too early to tell a timeline, but everyone seems to believe that he wants to keep working hard so he can eventually come home. I also asked about packages and letters, and they are OK. Some of you have inquired about sending a note or a picture, and if you give them to me I will be glad to send them along. I can't tell you the address because of confidentiality, but am glad to pass things along.
We plan to go out and see him on a Sunday, probably in June, and Liam is excited that he gets to talk to him on the phone whenever he feels like it now. In the meantime, he has a reading coach, therapy, school, fishing and swimming time, and a busy schedule filled with outdoor things, which is prefect for him! With more steady contact developing, I will try to give quick updates for everyone more often.
